According to Jason La Canfora, GM/executive Vp Sashi Brown has been fired. It has become commonplace to see a firing of Browns personnel after disappointing seasons dating back to their return in 1999.
Sashi Brown was promoted to executive VP /Gm after the firing of Ray Farmer. This was the day money ball was born. Sashi and the team that consists of Andrew Berry and Paul DePodesta. This strategy has acquired the Browns many picks but has also passed on the likes of Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson.
These picks have haunted this regime as Browns nation watches Wentz soar with the Eagles and until Watson’s injury was amassing amazing rookie numbers.
The once solid front office and coaching staff have become a volatile situation. We witnessed this with the botched trade of AJ McCarron from Cincinnati who many believe was Brown’s undermining of the decision to acquire the backup quarterback.
According to a report from NFL Media, the Browns have been looking at other candidates to be their GM over the last few weeks. Among those candidates are former Chiefs GM Jon Dorsey, who was abruptly fired before the season began in Kansas City.
