An Eagles Christmas Poem: Game Preview

Nick Foles had himself quite a day Sunday. (USATSI)

‘Twas two nights before Christmas, and all through Philly
All the fans were excited, cheering Dilly Dilly!
All the jerseys and hats were worn with pride,
Telling everyone “the Eagles have just hit their stride.”

The Eagles, now with their record at twelve and two,
Face the Oakland Raiders, how will they do?
The game is at home, where the fans will scream
For the boys in all black, for that is their team.

The Raiders may look to establish the run,
But the Eagles’ rush defense is truly number one.
The Eagles will also look to start off fast,
Running the ball and the play action pass.

The Eagles defense will try to bounce back
From a poor showing last week against the Giants’ pass attack.

Their hands will be full with the Raiders’ stars:

Lynch, Cooper, Crabtree and Carr.

With a win on Christmas, the Eagles will have Super goals:
To be led to the Super Bowl with old friend Nick Foles.
Although determined, Nick knew he would need

His teammates help in order to succeed;

“Now, Alshon! Now, Ertz! And all my running backs too!
Smith! Agholor! And the offensive line crew!”
They’ll all huddle together to receive the play
And help Foles to relive his seven touchdown day.

With a win, the Eagles clinch the first seed
And home field advantage, a big deal indeed
Against the Raiders, the Eagles should score plenty
And win the game 34-20.
