On Friday morning, Tennessee gave up on the man trying to find a new football coach, John Currie,

Currie has struggled to find a coach since the Greg Schiano debacle started on Sunday. Apparently, Currie met with Chancellor Beverly Davenport Friday morning, and the meeting did not go over well. As mentioned in the tweet above, Currie was only athletic director for eight months for the Vols.
Now, the Tennessee coaching search is in a standstill once again. As of last night, it appeared Mike Leach was going to be hired. With Currie out now, the administration will have to find an athletic director first until the campaign for a coach can continue. Things are only going to get crazier on rocky top in the next few days.
