It was announced yesterday that Sean Hallett was stepping down from his CEO position with the Indy Fuel. He decided it was a good time to pursue other ventures. He will remain as a managing partner but step aside from his daily duties with the team. As part of this announcement, Larry McQueary was announced as being promoted to President and COO of the Indy Fuel Hockey Team. He has been in the role of Chief Operating Officer since 2016. Previously Larry has was the Vice President of the Indiana Sports Corporation. He has a background in marketing and can only help the popularity of the Fuel grow. This news came across earlier in the day then the Fuel get an exciting overtime win this evening.

With Sean Hallett stepping down, it makes me wonder if the plans for the Iceplex in Greenwood have changed. Is the plan going to be put on the shelf? Or if this “endeavor” as it was put in the Indy Fuel press release, the reason he was stepping down? It was announced on January 12th of this year that the plans had stalled due to an energy rebate dispute. You can check that article out on the Indiana business journal website. Nothing has been stated or even implied by Hallett or the Indy Fuel organization regarding this matter. It is pure speculation on my part. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the project.
