Multiple reports indicate that Phillip Fulmer may have had a hand in John Currie’s termination as the Tennessee Volunteers athletic director.
Speculation is circulating that Fulmer “sabotaged” Currie’s role with the University as it relates to the latest coaching fiasco. After just eight months on the job, Currie’s time in Knoxville has come to an end.
It has also been reported that the hiring of Greg Schiano was leaked by someone within the program. Could Fulmer had purposely released the information in hopes of blowback against Currie? It could very well be true.
The Schiano story that was put out on Sunday came from a Tennessee official inside the program in hopes of the public outcry which could possibly stop it.

Rumors are circulating that Currie, feeling the heat, elected to “go rogue” and pursue Mike Leach without the consent or support from the university.

As of right now, the Tennessee Vols do not have a head football coach or an athletic director. It is highly likely Fulmer will take over as the athletic director. A coaching hire will likely follow.
And the state of Rocky Top remains in an all out frenzy.
