The World freaking Series, that is where these Chicago Cubs are heading and it is right on schedule. Years back when Theo Epstein talked about the massive overhaul taking place on the north side, 2016 always seemed to be tabbed as ‘The Year”. Now that magical year has arrived and thus far Epstein and crew have delivered. After winning the most games by a Cubs’ team since 1910 with 103, Chicago managed to put away Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS with relative ease. Thanks to stellar play from the likes of Javier Baez and lights out pitching, Chicago silenced the Dodgers and is back in the fall classic for the first time since 1945. Now four wins away from ending the longest and arguably most painful championship drought in American sports history only time will tell if 2016 is “The Year”. Hey Chicago, what do you say….
