Victor Oladipo became an official member of the Indiana Pacers today, as the team officially announced the trade that would send Paul George to Oklahoma City in exchange for Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. Needless to say, excitement among some local fans is already spreading–and for good reason.
Oladipo has actually been very consistent year over year, and has shown improvement in several crucial areas such as turnovers and field goal percentage. Remember folks, this is a player who just spent a season with the reigning MVP in Oklahoma City; he didn’t have the opportunity to touch the ball a lot.
David Mckenzie said it best when he pointed out Oladipo’s shooting percentage from three-point range or at the rim. Oladipo shoots an absurd 75% in those situations. Compared to James Harden’s 73.5% and George’s 52%, Oladipo provides a lot to be excited about for fans.
Eddie Cotton even took the time to put together an absolutely stunning hype video for the return of Oladipo that you can watch below.
All-in-all, Oladipo could very well be poised for a big jump this season with the Pacers. Don’t be surprised if he makes the All-Star team right out of the gate.
