Plagiarism – Yes, This Again. It is Important.

Content theft or idea theft of any kind is strictly prohibited on all Blue HQ Media posts and social media accounts. Blue HQ Media has a “one strike and you’re done” policy when it comes to this type of infraction. Managers or contributors found to be in violation of this policy will face immediate removal from the network.

Plagiarism deals a serious blow to not only the reputation of the offending writer but also to the network that we have all worked so hard to build. We take this policy very seriously. No exceptions will be made.

Social Media Accounts & Behavior

Blue HQ Media contributors that are given access to social media accounts corresponding with a Blue HQ Media property understand that those accounts are the property of Blue HQ Media. Staff managing such accounts are doing so at the request of Blue HQ Media. Staff is expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times when managing social media accounts. Behavior should be consistent with the Blue HQ Media Code of Integrity.

Contributors should also understand that as writers for Blue HQ Media, they are a representative of the Blue HQ Media brand at all times. That means if a manager or contributor represents themselves poorly on personal social media accounts, Blue HQ Media may wish to distance itself from that writer by terminating the writer’s relationship with Blue HQ Media. All Blue HQ Media writers should understand that Blue HQ Media may terminate our relationship at any time if it is deemed there has been inappropriate behavior.

Credential Requests

Obtaining some level of credentialed access to the teams/topics/events that we write about is becoming a more common aspiration for many new writers and outlets. There’s something exciting about the idea of being at a game live, taking in all the action before being able to talk directly with the players and coaches involved.

Press/media credential access is a benefit that many writers and outlets strive to obtain, but the process is much more complex and restrictive than most understand. In most cases, the teams have the final say on who is given access and when, but each league operates a little differently. This is why it is imperative that all Blue HQ Media managers and contributors adhere to this policy.

Blue HQ Media contributors are strictly prohibited from obtaining or requesting press/media credentials on their own.

Blue HQ Media managers and contributors also should not accept an invitation to any press/media event without first obtaining clearance with Steve Dishon.

In the event that we approve your credential request, all official contact with the team/event needs to run through us. Just because we approve the request, we cannot guarantee that the team will approve it.

Failure to comply with this policy may result in the termination of your relationship with Blue HQ Media.
